About Foodbank

Whether it’s everyday emergencies or in times of crisis, Foodbank Victoria has been providing vital food relief to vulnerable Victorians for over 90 years.

Through our network of more than 500 charity partners and 1,000 schools across the state, we’ve distributed 23.8 million meals in the last 12 months and are currently feeding 57,000 people every day.

Basically, we’re the fridge and pantry for some of the most well-known charities, across the state, including the Salvation Army and Vinnies.

Each week, we also run fresh food markets and mobile supermarket buses in disadvantaged communities so families can come and collect enough fresh produce for an entire week – for free.

We believe that all Victorians should have regular access to healthy and culturally appropriate food. That’s why we work with partners right across the food and grocery sector, from farmers and growers, right through to retailers, to source, rescue and purchase essential food and grocery items to help feed our communities.

While supporting our charity and school partners is at the core of what we do, as the state’s dedicated emergency food relief organisation, we’re also here to assist Victorians through times of crisis like bushfires, floods and pandemics.

We rely on the community to keep up this vital work, which is why we proudly stand by the maxim ‘every dollar donated - is two meals created!’
